  • Does the motorhome come with gas bottles
  • Is there a cord that runs from the motorhome to the electric point at the camp ground and how long is it?
  • Is there a spanner for undoing the gas bottle regulator
  • If the specifications for the motorhome they are offering you specifies a radio and CD player, make sure they are not talking about a car radio, if they are you may have too have it wired so you do not have the ignition switch on.
  • If you are purchasing a satellite television, make sure it is set up for the English satellite, mine was set up for the German satellite with about 350 channels, two of them in English.
  • make sure all of the instruction books you get given are in English, I only sorted out the satellite television when I was a lent an English instruction book by RoadPro at the Peterborough show.
  • Check on the SIZE of Saterlite Disk you will need at click here
  • It appears that you need a special receiver to get the TV stations in England
  • Check on how much storage space there is for your luggage, and if possible ask for a photograph.
  • Is the toilet window clear or opaque, mine was clear with a blind, which meant every time you went to the toilet or had a shower you had to pull down the blind, which of course made to the room dark.
  • How many 12 volt outlets are there and where are they located.
  • How many of these 12 volt outlets will be used permanently for any extras that you're having fitted?
  • How many mains voltage outlets are there, and where are they located?
  • Does the motorhome come filled with fuel ie Deisel ot Petrol?
  • Are ALL of the instruction manuals in English, if they are not you should insist That They Are All supplied in English. Unless you're going to have a crash course on German or Italian or whatever!
  • Is there a gas alarm fitted and is it for propane or carbon monoxide?
  • Is there a burglar alarm fitted? The unfortunate fact is that you need a alarm AND extra door locks fitted if you are going to do ANY travelling SEE HERE
  • Is there a immobilisation device fitted to the motor?
  • Can the motorhome table be used outside?
  • Is there a gas fitting for external use like a barbecue etc.?
  • Consider, very seriously, buying a GPS unit and will make your life much simpler when looking for a motor camp.
  • Make sure you get a ACSI campsite CD-ROM, working on the assumption you'll have a laptop computer with you, again it will make your life much simpler.
  • Consider getting plastic boxes to fit in the overhead cupboards to hold your clothing etc, often they are devils to see into and find what you're looking for.

Make sure your motorhome has a window like in this photograph, that can be seen from the drivers seat as it will be necessary when you're driving in a country that has the steering wheel on the other side of the car so you can see oncoming traffic like in the illustration below.
